Random Post Day

Today is National Random Post Day.  No, I made that up, but I have been compiling some great articles and wanted to share them with you.  These links below, I feel are must reads.  Especially with what has been going on in the media these days.

I Still Would Have Chosen You
If before you were born, I could have gone to Heaven and saw all the beautiful souls, I still would have chosen you. If God had told me, "this soul will one day need extra care and needs" I still would have chosen you. If He had told me, "that one day this soul may make my heart bleed" I still would have chosen you. If He had told me, "this soul would make me question the depth of my faith" I still would have chosen you. If He had told me, "this soul would one day make tears flow from my eyes that would overflow a river" I still would have chosen you. If He had told me, "our time spent together here on earth could be short" I still would have chosen you. If He had told me, "this soul may one day make me witness overbearing suffering" I still would have chosen you. If He had told me, "all that you know to be normal will drastically change" I still would have chosen you. Of course, even though I would have chosen you, I know it was God who chose me for you. Thank you God for letting me be his mommy! ~Author Unknown

On a completely different and unrelated topic, here is a great straw usage article.  As I said, random post.

Wordful Wednesday

Here is our sweet Evan smiling.

No words can express how cool Evan's hair is!  Seriously!!!

Some shots of the boys.  This is the closest Jack wanted to get to Evan.

Swimming in St. Louie

We attended a mini family vacation last weekend and had such a good time.  Great company, beautiful surroundings, sunny skies and relaxing pool time: what more could you ask for?

Senor Fiesta

Mom, Frank, Cindy, Rob, Amy, Avery, Andrew, Caleb, Ralph and Marge, it was so good to see you all!  We had such a fun weekend.  Thanks for a great great time!

Date Night

Here is proof of our first night out alone after Evan was born.

We went out for a late dinner and Grandpa Gerry and Grandma Sue watched the boys.  Evan slept the whole time, thank goodness.  And Jack went to bed without crying.  I'm so glad the boys were good.  Thank you for watching them!  We had such a nice time out......alone!

Before and After Photo

Thanks to Erin over at Unforeseen Gifts for her blog entry.  It got me intrigued.  This is my first attempt at editing a photo I have taken.  I would now like to add Lightroom to my Christmas list, since I am using a free software, Paint.net, to edit this photo.  I am sure you can do super cool stuff with Lightroom or CS4, whatever that is.

This 'before and after' idea is from Pixel Perfect.  Check it out and enter your 'before and after' if you like.

Walkin' Wednesday

I know it's Thursday, but the alliteration sounded better and he did learn this new skill yesterday (Wednesday) when he walked halfway across the room for a plate of my nachos!!!  Enjoy, as we are very proud!

Jam Packed Weekend

This past weekend was so busy, but also so much fun!  My sister and her boyfriend flew in Thursday night and we drove straight to the lake and made it just in time to get a few hours on the lake before the sunset curfew.  Here are some shots.  You would never have guessed that these two aren't wakeboarding every weekend!

The next event was a birthday party for my sis.  My Mom, step Dad and Grandma were also in town.  We are RARELY together to celebrate, so of course we partied it up, Mexican Fiesta style.

The final event was Evan's Baptism.  I was so thrilled to remember the tripod, so we could get a nice photo of everyone.

You will never guess, Evan didn't even mutter a whimper during the entire Baptism Service.  I could not believe it.  If bets would have been placed, I would have lost.  I was certain he was going to cry when the water was poured over his head.  He is definitely no longer colicy!  He was such a sweet sleeping angel.
I wish I would have gotten a close up shot of Jack.  He looked so sharp in a blue shirt and snazzy vest.  Gerry, you are right, he COULD be a model.

I love my family so much!

Hope you all had a great weekend too!
